A Look Back at Viktor and Rolf's Flowerbomb

For those of you have never heard of Viktor & Rolf, they are a Dutch fashion team that have designed some of the most cutting-edge and surprising collections in haute couture and ready to wear. Their 2004 documentary "Viktor & Rolf - Because We're Worth It" shows the duo as they prepare for the launch of their hugely successful perfume Flowerbomb and the Spring 2005 collection of the same name.

I just finished watching the documentary and I was in awe. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm pretty much obsessed with fashion documentaries. I love watching quirky visionaries create beautiful clothes and extravagant runway shows. Viktor & Rolf's documentary was stunning! It turned an intimate eye on the duo as they worked towards marketing their business and taking it to the next level. I love the creativity of the show, and I have always loved the campaign that goes along with it.

It was very strange and revealing to see the fashion duo struggling to pay their bills before the Flowerbomb launch that made them a huge success. They had a lot of input and control over the fragrance, fashion show, and branding and dedicated a lot of time to its development. They no longer have to worry about how to pay the bills however because they have amassed quite a following since Flowerbomb's release.

The visuals for the Flowerbomb commercial and packaging are absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful piece of work all around. The campaign for the perfume and show has stood the test of time and can still be seen in the top fashion magazines worldwide.
